Lily nodded and accepted the money with a grateful heart. She said, "Thank you, Jack. You're a good man."
And with that, Jack left his grandmother and continued on his way. He knew that he had done all he could to repay his grandmother's kindness, and he felt a sense of peace knowing that he had made her life a little easier.
The down quilt might have been old and worn, but it had brought warmth and comfort to two generations of a family. And that was the true value of kindness: it spreads like a wave, touching everyone it encounters, leaving a legacy of love and gratitude in its wake.
